I Got my Belated Christmas Wish: Stepping Away from the Fiscal Cliff

For  the first few days of 2013 we'll still be hanging over the edge of
the cliff, but  the sturm und drang should  be over by January
7th.

All I wanted for Christmas was a trip away from the fiscal cliff--
and the train is now leaving the station.

--Yahoo! Things are far from perfect, but this is a start.
Happy New Year!

  1. Within the next month or so, I guess we'll see how chastened the Republicans really are. Come early March, we'll need to raise the debt ceiling once again.

For whatever it's worth, Moody's made a statement earlier today: Unless there are more spending cuts, they'll lower the nation's Triple-A rating.

Who gives them the right to call the shots, anyway? It seems to be they've caused some grief in the recent past, as did S&P.

  2. There is profit in uncertainty and chaos. Cover from accountability. While the planet's been staring at the false, man-made abyss, they've been distracted from the still-hungry desire for payback.

    This is classic misdirection.
